It took me awhile to work up the courage to try the new Nanette Lepore ‘Nanette’ Eau de Parfum. Not because I thought it would smell awful, but because I just couldn’t deal with yet another “grand floral.” It seems like all the fragrance releases lately are such florals, and Nanette’s previous fragrance was a sweet, fruity floral.
I shouldn’t have worried, though. Nanette isn’t a grand floral at all, and I’m not even sure it’s much of a floral. I’ve seen it described as an oriental floral, which sounds about right, although it’s much more unique than that.
Top notes include rose, neroli, and pepper. Middle notes are rose petal accord, violet, and lily of the valley. Base notes are incense, cedarwood, and amber.
I’m a big incense/amber lover, and even the top floral notes are offset with the pepper, making this very easy to wear.
The fragrance comes in the following sizes: 1.0oz/30ml Eau de Parfum Spray, 2.5oz/75ml Eau de Parfum Spray, 0.25oz/7.4ml Eau de Parfum Rollerball, and a 3.4oz/100ml Sensual Body Lotion.
Available at Nordstrom and Neiman Marcus.
