Review: L’Oreal Studio Secrets Magic Perfecting Base

l'oreal studio secrets magic perfecting baseL’Oreal has really changed up their game recently, have you noticed? They are sharing all their studio secrets and releasing some new products that could certainly fit into any professional’s makeup bag.

I love primers (and am still needing your input on my primer survey – please head over and tell me what you think!), and I picked L’Oreal Studio Secrets Secret No.1 Magic Perfecting Base up on a recent jaunt to the drugstore. For quite some time, you couldn’t find a primer in the mass-market brands. The first one I saw was the Carmindy for Sally Hansen, but that was hard to find. Finally, after waiting for ages, L’Oreal introduced their Studio Secrets line and we were treated to L’Oreal Studio Secrets Secret No.1 Magic Perfecting Base.

Let me just say that I have a love-hate relationship with this primer. I hate the jar. I feel like I never get the right amount of primer on my fingers, and I’m not a huge fan of product in jars anyway. Pump bottles are so much easier and more sanitary.  That being said, I really do like the product itself. It goes on very smooth and does a fantastic job at providing a base for foundation.

You could also use this primer on it’s own for a light coverage pore perfector. I would definitely purchase this one again.

L’Oreal Studio Secrets Secret No.1 Magic Perfecting Base, $12.95 at Drugstore.com, and all mass market retailers.
