This is a truly lovely palette, and one that isn’t really expected of Urban Decay, known for their bold colors and glitters. These are more understated and soft colors, although the black eyeliner included with the set can certainly liven things up. Also included with these six colors is the Eden Primer Potion which I hadn’t had a chance to try yet. If you haven’t tried it, drop what you are doing and go get it immediately. I never thought I’d like it, since it seems to have an almost yellow tint to it, but it made my eyes look AMAZING. I even used a touch underneath my eyes to help brighten it up, especially since it blends like a dream. This is what I imagine Lemon Aid by Benefit does, but the price point on this is so much better.
The colors in The Feminine Palette include: Stray Dog, SWF, Midnight Cowboy, Aquarius, Dark Horse, and Ecstasy (swatches in the photo below are in the same order, bottom to top). I have to say, I’m a bit tired of Midnight Cowboy, especially since it has too much glitter for me, but the other colors are lovely, especially Ecstasy. I did a neutral look that you can see in the slideshow below. I began with the Eden Primer Potion, then applied SWF all over the lid up to the browbone. In the crease I blended in Stray Dog, and lined with the Zero 24/7 pencil (which I do love, even if I own four, from various palettes). It was meant to be a no-makeup look, and I think I succeeded, but this is no Naked palette – you can do some bright and funky stuff with just about any Urban Decay eyeshadow, because they are so pigmented and wear so well. They are truly one of my favorite cosmetic companies out there.
