I heard a very sage bit of advice recently. If you participated in a trend, it’s best to skip it the next time it comes around. In other words, all trends are cyclic. Neon was huge in the mid-80s when I was in middle school and very interested in being trendy. I had the neon lace hair bow, the neon pink slouchy sweatshirt (a la Flashdance), fingerless black gloves, black rubber bracelets, and I’m sure you can figure out the rest. So when neon came back into vogue recently, I knew that my days of rocking neon clothing was past. However, I love using my makeup to participate in trends that I don’t want to embrace completely. Check out some of my inspiration for incorporating a touch of neon into my routine.
