Do you remember those ads in the 1980′s for conditioners talking about how they weren’t full of greasy oils and waxes? Yes, I’m completely dating myself, but a quick search of YouTube found this:
Ah, the 80′s. When we were all concerned about oil, shine, and obsessed with everything being as matte as it could possibly be. Good thing times have changed, am I right? Now we know that certain oils and waxes are actually fantastic for your hair and give them the shine (we love shine these days) and body that it deserves.
I was just reminiscing on all that when I tried the new Dove Nourishing Oil Care Conditioner, which I love, by the way. It’s a scented product, so do be sure to flip the cap when you’re standing at Target/Walgreens/wherever and take a big sniff, because if you’re not a scented conditioner girl or guy, then this might not be for you. It doesn’t bother me (the scent queen), and I like the way that it gently lingers for a few hours after your hair is dry then completely disappears.
Those awful oils that Ivory Conditioner didn’t like very much back in 1988 are very present here, and they help seal those lifted cuticles that occur from too much damaging elements. Like that blow dryer you love so much. And the sun. And we won’t even TALK about that flat iron, okay? Hair is much softer and easier to deal with, and even frizzy girls should see an improvement.
For those of you who don’t use shampoo – I used the Dove Nourishing Oil Care Conditioner in place of my shampoo after a particularly stressful hair day at the beach and loved the results. My hair didn’t feel all heavy and gross, and it felt clean.
Give it a whirl, I think you’ll be impressed with this drugstore product. And it’s a thrifty girl’s dream at less than $5 a bottle just about everywhere.
Now for the good stuff – the $1000 Spafinder gift certificate!
