Saks Fifth Avenue has a special delivery to their shoe department
Did you know that the Saks Fifth Avenue in New York City (yes, the one on Fifth Avenue) has a shoe department that covers an entire floor? It’s lovely. But it also has it’s own zip code – 10022. True story!
Just a little bit of trivia to get you thinking about the amazing stuff that you can find in this zip code, and now Saks has announced a new capsule collection coming to the NYC and Beverly Hills.
Special Delivery offers a taste of the best in emerging talent by introducing 6 new shoe collections from Heather Williams, Daniele Michetti, Diego Dolcini, Gianvito Rossi,Jonathan Kelsey, and Rupert Sanderson to 10022-SHOE.
Take a closer look at the six collections and find out more.
Michetti, whose collection is defined by uniquely feminine and fashionable silhouettes, worked extensively with Stefano Pilatti on Yves Saint Laurent’s men’s collection and was selected as one of Italian Vogue’s 2009 bright stars of the fashion industry.
The elegance and charismatic style of Diego Dolcini’s shoes is found in the construction details and in his combination of technical innovation with traditional Italian artisan manufacturing. The styles available at Saks run the gamut from a stiletto shoe bootie to an architectural wedge with plexi detail, all demonstrating his distinctive vision.
Gianvito Rossi’s intention is to “make shoes with as few ornamental effects as possible.” His elegant and understated shoes illustrate the power of a simple, chic silhouette on a woman, skills he doubtlessly picked up from his father, Sergio Rossi. Mesh sandals and jersey lace-up booties are among the styles that will be available at Saks.
Jonathan Kelsey’s Spring collection pulls elements from science fiction films and mixes them with ancient Egyptian decorative style. Saks will carry three styles, including the Franz printed python/leather bootie, of which Saks will be the exclusive retailer in the U.S.
Rupert Sanderson has pared down his styles to a modern, graphic silhouette which can be worn for day or evening. Cutout patents and exotics characterize the styles that will be found at Saks, including the Alchemist flame cutout bootie and Estelle gothic caged sandal.
