I may not have a whole lot of great things to say about her husband (credit where credit is due, however – he’s clearly a brilliant businessman), but Melania Trump always looks amazing. This year, she dressed in my absolute favorite designer, Christian Siriano, for the Met Gala.

She says of working with Christian, “It has been wonderful working with the young and talented designer, Christian Siriano.  The dress for The Costume Institute Metropolitan Gala is a beautiful royal blue color; bold yet soft and elegant.  Christian immediately knew what type of statement I wanted to make…a dress with a lot of drama…and he achieved that for me!  I greatly admire his fashion creativity and I look forward to wearing many more of Christian’s creations!”

Christian of course responded with “It was such a wonderful experience working with Melania to create this gown for her.  She is the epitome of what a fabulous woman should represent with style and class.  Melania wanted this dress to be about drama and glamour so that is what we did. The gown is made of  Royal blue satin-faced organza and the color I recently used in my Fall 2010 collection. The draped bodice is fitted to the hip and the skirt of the dress is full with tucks and gathers creating a cascading wave – like movement. The dress is very sculptural but also very romantic and soft giving her many shapes when she turns in different directions. ”

The color is absolutely brilliant, and I adore the draping at the bottom of the dress with the contrasting fitted bodice.
