Super secretive Tom Ford finally releases video of his exclusive fashion show that took place last September. Welcome back to women’s wear, Mr. Ford.
Fresh from having three of her dresses featured in “Sex and the City 2,” Joanna Mastroianni keeps the momentum going with her Spring 2011 collection presented at the designer’s Manhattan atelier September 16, 2010.
Marc Jacobs always creates a stir with his shows. This season, he has a decidedly 70′s vibe, which I love, and beautiful, bright colors. Lucky for all of us who didn’t get a seat at the show, it is online for us lowly fashionites to watch.
In case you missed it, here is the Diesel Black Gold show from New York Fashion Week.
Erin Fetherston said that she was inspired by “aphrodisiac,” and her glamorous collection certainly fits that. It’s filled with pieces that inspire wanderlust, a traveler who explores the most unique and colorful locales and collects these images and uses them as inspiration for her own wardrobe. Old Hollywood glamour shows just a bit here, and it’s always refreshing to see that.
Rather than doing your typical show, Timo Weiland did a presentation where the audience could walk through and take a closer look at each of the looks in the collection. It was actually quite nice and afforded everyone a good view, rather than just the elite in the first three rows.
Fiona Cibani, the lead designer at Ports 1961, was inspired this season by the desert landscapes – from jagged geometric forms to the sensuous curves of the sand dunes, the designs were both elegant and very wearable. Cibani used many neutrals, including camel and white, to illustrate the natural minerals as well as pops of color (orchid, kelly green, and royal blue) showing glimpses of a hidden oasis within the barren desert.
We had so much fun watching this Timo Weiland model at the presentation. He was foot tapping, playing with his sunglasses, and talking to girl next to him, while all the other models were as still as statues. Wonder if he will be hired next season?
