The resort collections are out, and one of the few that actually grabbed my interest was by one of my favorite designers, Erin Fetherston. “For resort, I was inspired by the French film, L’Amant. I wanted to capture an effortless, chic sensibility in an offering with lots of mix and matchability,” Erin Fetherston said.

New York based designer Erin Fetherston graduated from the Parson’s School of Design in Paris and has shown her fairy tale collections at Bryant Park and Milk Studios for the past five seasons. Fetherston was nominated for the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund in 2007 and is a favorite designer of Anne Hathaway, Zooey Deschanel and Kirsten Dunst.

Erin Fetherston found her inspiration in iconic Chelsea girl Nico, and gave us flowing dresses with a sharp rock and roll tailored edge. Looks included everything from flowing chiffon dresses to slimming shifts. Spring lilac, nude, and sage were offset by a sharp white/black/orange contrast. Lace, chiffon, leather and velvet all bring some edge and/or softness to the collection.
